In August 2024, the STEM Inspires team organized a 3-week long Summer STEM Program at Camp Mercer of HomeFront NJ. Volunteers Amy Lin, Aditi Menon, Olivia Chen, Harish Anand, Emma Li, Ashaz Rizvi, and Muaz Rizvi spent the mornings at Lawrenceville Community Center, helping 3rd-6th graders learn how to code in Python and how to develop apps in MIT App Inventor. They also conducted a series of fun science experiments: baking soda and vinegar reactions, an egg drop, strawberry DNA extraction, oobleck and static electricity, elephant toothpaste, and more. It was definitely a memorable experience!
Volunteers Amy Lin and Emma Li also spent afternoons in the first week of August at the Princeton Public Library running the Summer STEM Program for elementary school students in the Princeton area.

In January 2024, STEM Inspires hosted an online Holiday Hackathon, with a prompt to create any website, program, or app that could bring positive change to the community. Students teamed up to create awesome coding projects and showcased their work to win prizes. They also had the opportunity to learn from professional guest speakers who ran workshops about topics in STEM, coding, app development, and AI.
Congratulations to the following teams:
1st place: Shrikar Swami
2nd place: Sanika Ambulkar, Kanika Shahi, Yashi Garg, Kevin Khan
3rd place: Samridh Das & Ashwath Rao

STEM Inspires team offered an online App Development Course to elementary and middle school students. The students learned fun coding concepts with MIT App Inventor, an app development platform that's beginner-friendly. The session spanned 4 classes from mid December to mid January.
In August 2023, STEM Inspires members, together with volunteers from Princeton High School, organized a 2-week long Summer STEM Exposure Program for elementary and middle school students from Princeton Public Schools. The students had fun learning app development with MIT App Inventor and exploring science through hands-on experiments. The program concluded with a highly anticipated Hackathon day with project presentations from young STEM enthusiasts!
